Wondering when you should replace your safety footwear?

Safety footwear is crucially important personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers in a variety of industries, from construction to healthcare. To ensure maximum protection, it is crucial to replace safety footwear at the right time.

Knowing exactly when it is time to replace your safety footwear can be challenging as there are a number of factors to be considered.

As the leading safety footwear experts, we would like to give you some simple advice on how to recognise these factors and keep you safe:

1. The upper is coming apart.

If the upper material rips or the stitching on your footwear is coming apart, it's time to buy a new pair.

2. When the sole gets worn down.

A damaged sole will affect the ability of the footwear to protect against contact with electrical hazards.  When the tread is gone the footwear will lose it's grip and become slippy causing unnecessary danger.

3. The protective safety toe is showing through.

Over time the material over the top of the toe can breakdown due to wear and tear and expose the metal or composite protective toe cap.

4. They leak.

If you work at a job where you are exposed to water or other liquids and they seeping into your footwear, then it is time to replace them.
